Definition: a form of government a sequence of rulers comes from the same family, passing power through hereditary succession. This system is typically associated with royal families and can be found in both historical and contemporary contexts.
The term “dynasty” is used to delimit the era during which a family reigned. The term sometimes used informally in situation such as influencial members of a family, a series owners of a major company, any family with legacy. It is also extended to unrelated people.
For example the head of state is a king or queen who inherits their position through family lineage.
Hereditary Rule: often following a patrilineal system where succession passes from father to son. Others: marriage within royal families, to strengthen alliances and ensure the continuation of the dynasty.
The dynastic family or lineage may be known as a “noble house” or “imperial” “royal”. And it is more often referred by adding the name afterwards such as “House of Habsburg”
